Weekend Foodie Warriors – Take 37! *Restaurant Updates*

Hello again, Foodie Friends 🙂 For this Foodie Adventures, my goal is to shine a spotlight on every restaurant I can find offering family style meals, free meals for kids, and take-out/carry-out in the Upstate, SC area to #supportsmallbusinesses!

Now when I saw these listings for “family style” meals, think of a Southern “meat and three” – one bigger meat-centric dish, a couple sides, and maybe drinks or desserts too! My family sometimes gets these when we don’t know what we want to eat for dinner or don’t feel like cooking on the weekends. See below for the list I’ve compiled so far:

• Charleston Sports Pub – They’re serving family style boxes for $29.99 (feeds 4). These include 2 burgers, fries, and 12 wings or 4 tacos and 2 quesadillas.
• Farm Fresh Fast – “We’re keeping our Grab’nGo cooler stocked with ready-made meals from $7-$9 so y’all can just pick them up real quick, or order them through the drive-thru window! Also don’t forget that first responders can get them for only $5 each!”
• Fork and Plough – “Introducing our daily take home menu (starting Wednesday, March 18) featuring a meat and seasonal sides. Tomorrow is smoked chicken. These menu options will be posted on our website daily! Our market and butcher counter will be open DAILY from 11AM-7PM featuring local meats, cheeses, fresh produce and prepared foods. Most meals will include 2 sides (your choice of moon dust potatoes, garlic and basil mashed potatoes, grilled mac & cheese, sautéed green beans, spicy vegan collard greens, cilantro lime cole slaw), biscuits and a free salad! Mention that you saw this on Facebook (that’s where I found it, thank you, Stacy Hampe) & you’ll get a little something extra. Everyone will be given something different to show appreciation for your support. Options include:

Fun fact, I used to be friends with quite a few of the Fox Carolina anchors and once did a H.O.G. Volunteer Day (Hands on Greenville) with the team at the Greenville Humane Society a couple of years ago!

The folks at the station compiled an amazing article about all the restaurants in the Upstate SC area and Western NC area that are giving away free lunches to kids while they’re out of school. Food scarcity for kids is something that’s really important to me, and I support the No Kid Hungry organization and others like it whenever I can.
